Symbols and Treasures at Silk Road Connection

Connection. We celebrate connections, especially the personalized and power bridges to memories, people and things that weave the threads of our lives together. I like to remind people that you have a treasure necklace in your drawers. The treasure necklace was my very first creation!

A fascination with symbols and treasures morphs into a focus for adornment in my upcoming trunk show, Thursday June 14, 2018 at Silk Road Connection.

Step into my world where one dynamic bead (I never meet a bead I don’t like) makes a huge statement difference, and your visible wrappings connect to your inner spiritual state.

For example, a sterling silver dragonfly is transformed with Swarovski crystals, framed with faceted amethyst, the stone of protection. The lightness and joy of a dragonfly is the perfect perspective for change.

Layer the dragonfly over five strands of iridescent pearls, fuchsia barrel pearls and pink coin pearls woven together with clear, faceted, vintage Czech glass.

Or, choose a purple Goddess bead weaving base accented with tumbled amethyst. Make a purple story.

If you prefer to wear your heart on your sleeve (or your chest), consider this asymmetrical treatment of picture jasper.

The joy of hand-made charms presents a cohesive theme of meaning in my current collection.

One-of-a-kind pendants with simple lines and swirls of waves, gain enhancement from vintage African trade bead charms. The natural flamboyance of leather captures a freezer, lighter summer look. Small strands of .5mm leather threaded together form a big impression.

Symbols communicate simple, deep flavors of ornamentation, incorporating colors, intricate details such as carved beads, repetition of pattern and more.

You’ll find new treatments and unusual combinations in this show. See it during my trunk show on Thursday, June 16, 2018 at Silk Road Connection.
